Pride in Jacobs
Bring your whole self to work
Across our company, across our offices, across the world, we’re continually challenging today to reinvent tomorrow, making the world smarter, more connected and more sustainable. At Jacobs, we take pride in being a company that not only accepts but empowers LGBTQ+ people to thrive and bring their authentic selves to work each and every day. We’re committed to creating an environment where everyone can flourish – and we’re proud to have been recognized as an industry leader as a consequence.
For four consecutive years, we’ve achieved a "perfect" score in the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index, showcasing our dedication to LGBTQ+ equality. We’re also proud to be the first company in our industry's history to be ranked among the top 10 LGBT Places to Work by Stonewall U.K. for two consecutive years.
We actively support and champion our transgender colleagues and their families. Our benefits and policies around parenting, adoption, and healthcare are designed to be accessible to all genders – and we’re proud to have Transgender Specialist roles within our HR team to better serve our trans community at Jacobs. Prism, our vibrant employee network for LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies, spans the globe with over 2,300 members. Through Prism, we engage in all aspects of the LGBTQ+ experience, including activism, volunteering, education, client outreach, and most importantly, celebrating our incredible LGBTQ+ family.
Our stories

Bringing People Together and Engineering Change: Katie Holmes' Story
"As important as the Prism network is for Jacobs’ LGBTQ+ community, it also has benefits for a far wider group of people. For example, parents with a child who wants to use gender-neutral pronouns – they love their child and want to support them but they don't have any frame of reference for how to do that. Having the resources to assist in situations like that illustrates how improving support for the LGBTQ+ community can help society as a whole."

Prism Employee Network: Vigor Lam's Story
"At my former company, there weren’t employee network groups dedicated to identities (e.g. racial, gender/sexuality) – so it was important for me to join a company that believes in this type of community. In joining Prism, I immediately felt connected to our global firm, and knowing that this community exists, and what our network is advocating for on behalf of colleagues that don’t feel as safe to be themselves, is so powerful."

Prism Employee Network: Rose Lew Tsai-Le Whitson’s Story
"As someone who identifies as part of the LGBTQ+ community, I find Prism empowers me to be my authentic self and to take an intersectional view of inclusion, where I can be an ally to other people of color and use my identity to help advocate for queer people like me within those communities."
